Wine production in Apulia is among the first ones in Italy, with Apulian producers mostly focusing on quality production
of DOC wines.
Apulia is rich of autochthonous grapes having great potentials, such as Negroamaro, Primitivo and Uva di Troia, which in the last years have become more and more popular, therefore contributing the the rebirth of Apulian wines. The wines mainly representing Apulia are reds and roses, however in the region are also produced interesting white wines, also with autochthonous grapes. During the tour you will taste the following grape varieties: Moscato of Trani, Verdeca, Malvasia of Salento, Primitivo, Salice Salentino and Negroamaro.
All visits to winemakers (Rivera; Moscato di Trani; Albea; Rubino; Due Palme; Leone De Castris) involve a visit to the cellars, an introduction to the wines produced hold by the owner or the local oenologist and a wine tasting with some local food appetizers.

Welcome cocktail and light dinner. Overnight.
Optional:
Sunset visit to Castel del Monte, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 2: Castel del Monte / Andria / Trani / Savelletri
Morning guided tour of Castel del Monte, an unique piece of medieval military architecture and Unesco World Heritage Site. Visit of Andria's most renowned winery and tastings of best local wines. Transfer to Trani, for lunch at a restaurant which has won many awards for its seafood specialties.
In the afternoon guided tour of the medieval Trani, known as the “Pearl of Puglia” for its traditional Renaissance architecture and the famous spectacular 13th Century Cathedrals, right on the sea water. Visit of an amazing winery and tastings of its local wines.
Move to Savelletri and check in at the Masseria Torre Coccaro. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Alberobello / Monopoli / Savelletri
Morning guided tour of Alberobello, the trulli capitol of Puglia recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Site. Trulli are unique to Puglia and these mysterious buildings, with thick limestone walls and graceful conical roofs, originated hundreds of years ago. Visit to a winery, with out-museum, and wine tasting.
Move to Monopoli, for an amazing visit to the fish market, followed by a tour of the city center. Lunch at a restaurant built on the rocks right on the sea.
Return to Savelletri for a free afternoon with Spa and private beach club access. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Martina Franca / Locorotondo / Cisternino / Ostuni
Breakfast and transfer for a stroll through the hilltop town of Martina Franca, built 431 meters above sea level and affording sweeping views of the surrounding villages. The town has a particularly beautiful "old city", home to the Ducal Palace built by the noble Caracciolo family, and hosts the annual Summer Opera Festival.
Move to Locorotondo to enjoy the famous “belvedere” (panoramic overview of the Itria Valley) and lunch at a "fornello", an amazing butchery where you can choose the meat you wish to eat and see it being cooked upon your eyes. In the early afternoon enjoy a cheese making and tasting, followed by a olive oil tasting in Cisternino. In the evening guided visit to Ostuni, one of the most beautiful villages in Puglia situated in the midst of the green countryside and the blue sea. The historical center of the well known "White Town" is on a hillside, surrounded by small white washed houses overlooking the shore. Dinner in an elegant Masseria, based on vegetarian recipes.
Back home and overnight.
Optional:
Private 45 ft yacht excursion to the caves of Polignano a Mare and the ancient harbor of Monopoli, with swims in crystal-clear water coves.
Day 5: Brindisi / Cellino San Marco / Lecce
Breakfast and transfer to Brindisi, for a stroll through the historical centre. Brindisi was a port city grown during Roman times and became important again during the Crusades, which left from its port. Wine tasting in an amusing restaurant, owned by a boutique winemaker, and lunch.
In early afternoon move to Cellino San Marco for a visit to a winery specialized in local grape varieties and wine tasting. Continue for Lecce and check-in at the elegant Risorgimento Resort, a 18th century palace in the heart of Lecce.
Evening wine tasting at the hotel private wine cellar, followed by dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Lecce / Salice Salentino
Breakfast and guided tour of Lecce, known to many as the "Florence of the South". In the city center you will immediately notice the Baroque style of architecture, especially while visiting the Basilica di Santa Croce and the Duomo. Perhaps this is partially due to the type of stone found in Lecce, naturally very light and easily shaped into forms such as flowers, fruit or even the human body. Today lunch at a landmark restaurant housed in a baroque building with refined Apulian specialties.
Afternoon guided visit of an ancient winery in Salice Salentino, for a negroamaro wine tasting.
Back to Lecce for dinner at the Risorgimento's restaurant, serving creative fusion cuisine. Overnight.
Day 7: Otranto
Breakfast. The morning in Lecce is free for you to explore as you wish.
Transfer to the oriental town of Otranto, famous for its 800 Martyrs who refused to renounce their religion during a Turkish invasion. Lunch at a hot spot in the center of Otranto, to experience its exquisite regional cuisine.
Afternoon stroll through Otranto, for a visit to this very charming town full of narrow winding streets, shops and cafes...but first of all interesting monuments like the Castle of the Aragonese to the Cathedral. Visit to Otranto Harbor to meet the fishing boats, as they unload their catch. You could get on the fishing boat and pick the fish to eat at tonight restaurant. Dinner.
Back to your hotel in Lecce and overnight.
Breakfast and check out. Transfer to Brindisi airport, for departure.
